About us at Corru Gate Accommodation, Mapua, Nelson, New Zealand

Hi. Welcome to Corru Gate.
We are a family of 4 - Adele and Roger and 2 children. We share our small 6 acre (2.4ha) farm with a cat, 8 sheep, 4 lambs, numerous frogs and zillions of birds.

We've lived in the Nelson / Tasman area now for over 10 years. As a result, we have extensive knowledge of local places and activities that might interest you during your stay.

We've grown very fond of our slice of coastal,
rural paradise, and often remind ourselves howlucky we are to live here.

Let us introduce ourselves:
Roger - "Life in the Nelson region is great! I moved here from Auckland in 1992 and rediscovered my childhood farm life on our 6 acres. When I'm not teaching Biology and Outdoor Education, I have a dilemma. Should I go kayaking or climbing or walking? Should I bliss out at our local cafes or tap into the Nelson culture scene? Should I take the kids beaching or for a romp over the farm? I love movies, photography, nature, magazines and conversation.

Travelling overseas for 2 years and living elsewhere in NZ have made me appreciate cosmopolitan life and hospitality."

Adele - "Like Roger, I enjoy living in the Ruby Bay / Mapua area. It certainly is the place for me! I love the mix of city, beach and rural life that we have here. My idea of fun is going for a walk or visiting an art studio with friends and / or family, stopping off at a local café for a decent coffee and a bite to eat, then heading off later to go shopping and to see a movie in Nelson City.

You see - relationships are important to me. I value good conversation and I find meeting new people stimulating and refreshing. My background in the Education / Training Industry, and my extensive travel experience have led to my belief that real customer service, value for money, and genuine hospitality really matter."
